With a strong presence already in Sweden, United Kingdom and Greece, Universal Avenue now enters Spain to change the way people work.
Today, Universal Avenue announced its launch into the Spanish market. Universal Avenue, an online platform that gives businesses on-demand access to a direct sales force in any location around the world, is expanding as a result of its recent investment earlier this summer. The company is backed by MOOR, the private investment arm of Kaj Hed, Chairman and main owner of Rovio (creator of Angry Birds), Northzone and Salesforce Ventures.
Universal Avenue is changing the way people work in the traditional sense by selecting and training talented professionals on their online platform, to become Brand Ambassadors, who represent some of the world’s top online brands.
Brand Ambassadors live all over the world, set their own schedule and are free to work wherever they choose to go. Together they form a distributed network that gives brands a unique ability to grow in any market at any time, quickly.
Brand Ambassadors work on a freelance basis, and use a mobile app to get interactive training and become certified on their brands of choice. They locate venues through the app and make sales, earning themselves a percentage of every sale they close
The company is headquartered in Stockholm, with offices in Athens, London and from November 18th, also in Barcelona. Universal Avenue's plans for expansion in Spain are not limited to moving into new offices at the Networkia Business center, Avenida Portal de l'Angel; its reach will span across other cities in Spain with its growing Brand Ambassador network.
A full team of experts who will be based in Spain are being selected, and will consist of a Head of Sales, Brand Specialists and Coaches, who will ensure the highest quality of all processes of representation. The Brand Ambassador recruitment process will begin in Spain this week, and based on the thousands of worldwide applications already received, the company expects a wide range of applications from students, to unemployed professionals to part-time workers.
"We are thrilled about our Spanish market entry, the startup ecosystem is booming and there are a high number of strong digital brands in the process of entering the market. We look forward to accelerate this growth and at the same time offer the Spanish community the opportunity to become Brand Ambassadors", says Johan Lilja, Co-Founder and CEO at Universal Avenue.
Patricia Fernandez Carrelo, who was VP of Marketing and Product of the Catalan startup Zyncro for four years, has been appointed by Universal Avenue to launch the company in Spain.
On November 18th Universal Avenue will celebrate an invite-only private launch party, that will take place in downtown Barcelona
