Junior Brand Specialist Matilda Ström, on what brought her to Universal Avenue, and becoming a sales professional.
How did you end up as a Junior Brand Specialist at Universal Avenue? In the beginning of fall 2016 I entered a program at Arndt Sales Academy. During the course we learned about sales and personal growth every day, both in theory and with practical exercises. Arndts Sales academy and Universal Avenue worked closely together, and during my time at the school I was able to present myself and my skills to the team at Universal Avenue. I did everything in my power and gave my all to show them I was a good enough seller, because I really liked the company and all people working there. The atmosphere at Universal Avenue is fun and inspiring and I’m so happy to be a part of the company.
What has your experience been like so far? I’m truly excited to go to work everyday, I really like all the people I´m working with and they bring such a positive energy. The best part of the job is the fact that I meet a lot of new people everyday - sometimes I have to pinch myself as I wonder if this really is my job! It’s very flexible, I can work whenever and wherever I want to as long as I sell. It feels so nice to, at the age of 19, be representing some really cool and significant companies like Google and Spotify Business. I can’t wait to see what the future will hold for me and Universal Avenue.
Tell us about a sale you're really proud of! The sales that I remember, learn the most from and am proudest of are the ones where I really need to work hard to convince the customer that I have something that they need. It's such a nice feeling when they realize I can help them improve their business and they get as excited as I am about the product.

What advice would you give a new Brand Ambassador? Don’t panic - we've all been beginners and the sales will eventually come. Organize and structure the work so it fits you. It´s a very free job but with that freedom comes more responsibility for your own work ethics. The most important thing is to have fun, take every no as a hello, smile and try again.
